Reading: We are reading "A Froggy Fable" and talking about the vocabulary that goes with the story, along with the life cycle of a frog.

Math: We are measuring inches and centimeters.  We are using rulers and will be talking about feet and yards.

Grammar: We are talking about Adjectives.

Spelling: We are talking about consonant-le words, such as bubble, ankle, turtle, and purple.

Social Studies: We are working on Continents and Oceans and also discussing US symbols.

Other:  Tomorrow is Day 10...Art.

Wednesday, May 30th

Reading: We started a new story called "A Froggy Fable"  We will be reading it, talking about the vocab words, and learning about the life cycle of a frog.

Math:  We are working on measuring inches and centimeters.

Grammar: We are working on adjectives.

Spelling: I introduced final stable syllables...like -ble, -tle, -dle, -kle. 

Social Studies: We are working on Continents and Oceans. 

Other:  Tomorrow is Day 9...Library.

Thursday, May 24th

Reading: We started our new story "Red, White, and Blue" and talked about our new vocab words.  These will not be sent home, however, due to no more tests for vocab.

Math: We finished money today and will begin measuring on Tuesday.

Grammar: We will be talking about Adjectives.

Spelling: We are not getting a new list.  There will be no more tests for spelling.

Social Studies: We are working on Continents and Oceans.  We will also be talking about American symbols.

Other:  Tomorrow is our Carnival Day.  It is a non-rotation day.  Please wear socks for the bounce houses.  You may send sunscreen in with your child.  The boys and girls can wear a Spartan shirt with gym bottoms. 

Wednesday, May 23

Reading:  We will be reading "Red, White, and Blue" in honor of Memorial Day. 

Math: We are finishing up money this week and will be moving on to measuring with inches and centimeters.

Grammar: We will be talking about adjectives.

Spelling: None

Social Studies: We are working on Continents and Oceans.

Other:  Tomorrow will be Day 6...Computers.  This Friday will be the Carnival.  Lunch choice for that day will be a hot dog from the cafeteria or you may pack your own lunch.

Tuesday, May 22nd

Reading: Please study your vocab.  Test is tomorrow.

Math: We are working on identifying and counting half dollars, quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies.

Grammar: We will be starting Adjectives.

Spelling: Please study your spelling words with er and est.  Test is tomorrow.

Social Studies: We are working on Continents and Oceans.

Other:  Tomorrow is Day 5...Art.  This Friday is our Carnival.

Monday, May 21st

Reading: Please review your words and read "The Longest Shopping Trip."  Vocab test will be Wednesday.

Math: We are working on counting half dollars, quarters, nickels, and pennies.

Grammar: We are working on am, is, are, was, and were verbs.

Spelling: Please review your words.  Test is on Wednesday.

Social Studies: We are working on Continents and Oceans.

Other:  Tomorrow is Day 4...Keyboarding.  Our Carnival is this Friday.

Thursday, May 18th

Reading: We will have our vocab test next week.

Math: Please continue to count quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies.  Next week we will add half dollars into the group.

Grammar: We are working on verbs and will be starting to talk about adjectives next week.

Spelling: We will have our spelling test on Tuesday.

Social Studies: We are working on Continents and Oceans.

Other:  Monday will be Day 3...Gym.
