Reading: We will be starting our first story next week.

Math:  We will be starting our first topic in math next week.

Grammar:  We talked about rules for complete sentences today.  Ask your child about the "meatball spaces"  :)

Spelling:  We will get our first list next week.

Science: We will be starting our first chapter about Space and our Solar System.

Other:  Tuesday will be Day 6...Computers.  We do not have school on Monday.  Happy Labor Day!

Wednesday, Aug. 30th

Reading: Please read "What's In That Sack?"

Math: None

Grammar: None

Spelling: We are reviewing the short vowel sounds.  When we get our first spelling list it will be words with the short vowel sounds.

Science: None

Other:  Tomorrow is Day 4...Keyboarding with Mr. Glessner.  Please return any first day forms to school as soon as you can if you didn't already. 

Tuesday, August 29th

Reading:  We read a story about what to do if we see someone being bullied.

Math:  We took an addition practice test to see what the boys and girls remember from first grade.

Grammar: We worked on complete sentences while writing about our first day of school.

Spelling: We took a practice test to see what phonics rules they remembered from first grade.

Science: None

Other:  Tomorrow is Day 3...Gym.  Please return any first day papers if you haven't already.  Yesterday you should have gotten your Picture Day form and your "All About Me" packet with the September calendar of when to bring yours into school. 

Monday, Aug. 28th

Reading:  None

 Math:  None

 Grammar:  None

 Spelling:  None

 Science:  None

 Other:  Tomorrow is Day 2...Music.  Please fill out and send in your first day forms if you haven't already.  In your child's folder there is a calendar and and "All About Me" packet.  Please complete your packet and bring it to school on your scheduled date.  Also, you will find a snack paper and the school picture form.  I hope the boys and girls had a good first day!!

Summer Break

Reading:  Please continue to practice reading over the summer break

 Math: Please continue to practice your addition and subtraction facts over summer break

 Grammar: Please remember those important sentence rules

 Spelling: Please remember all of those wonderful phonics rules we have learned to help us be awesome spellers

 Science: Please get outside and explore and enjoy nature

 Other:  Have a great summer break and please come visit me next year

Grammar: Please complete the verb worksheet.  Test is tomorrow.

Spelling: None

Science: We are observing our three different soils daily. 

Other:  Tomorrow is Day 9...Book Exchange.   Your child's report card is in their folder.  Please look it over, sign it, and return it back to school. 

Monday, March 13

Reading: Review vocab     Please be ready for the test on the day we return to school. 

Math: Complete the 2 coin worksheets

Grammar: We are working on subject/verb agreement.

Spelling: None

Science: We are observing our plants in the three different types of soils.

Other:  It will be Day 3...Computers on the next day of school.  This Friday is a Dress Down Day for $1.
