Other:  Tomorrow is Day 9...Book Exchange.  Tuesday, Sept. 13 is Picture Day.  Wednesday, Sept. 14 is our first Data Delay Day.  There is a special form in your child's folder about Data Delay Days.

Math: Complete Quick Check 1-1

Grammar: We are discussing complete sentences.

Spelling: Review your spelling words with short vowel sounds.

Science: We will be starting Ch.6 soon.

Other:  Tomorrow is Day 8...Computers.  Picture Day is Tuesday, Sept. 13.

Tuesday, September 6

Reading: Please read over your new vocab words for the story "The Twin Club."  They are found in the vocab pocket of your horse folder.

Math: We started Topic 1: Understanding Addition and Subtraction.  This is a review topic from first grade.

Grammar: We started talking about complete sentences and knowing the complete sentence rules.

Spelling:  Please read your new spelling words.  These are all words with the short vowel sounds.  They are found in the spelling pocket of the horse folder.

Science: We will be starting Ch. 6 soon.

Other: Tomorrow is Day 7...Music.  Picture Day will be Tuesday, September 13th.

Thursday, September 1

Reading: Always practice reading a book you like at home.  It helps you become a better reader. :)

Math: You will find an addition and subtraction fact paper in your folder.  Find a safe place to keep them so you can always practice your facts to become a fact wiz!!

Grammar: None

Spelling: None

Science: None

Other:  Tomorrow is Day 5...Art.  We will have a district wide pep rally tomorrow in honor of all of our Spartans! 

Wednesday, August 31

Reading: We are working on our Baseline Test to see what we remember from last year.  We will finish it tomorrow.

Math: Tomorrow we will be starting a Placement test to see what the boys and girls remember from last year. 

Grammar: None

Spelling: None

Science: None

Other:  Tomorrow is Day 4...Library.  We are having a district wide pep rally on Friday at the high school stadium to cheer on our Spartans!!  Friday is also a dress down day. 

Tuesday, August 30

Reading: We started our Baseline Test and will finish it tomorrow.  This test will tell me what the student remembers from Kindergarten and First grades.

Math: Please practice basic addition and subtraction facts.  We will be taking a Placement Test tomorrow.  This is just like the reading Baseline Test and will help me see where each student is at in math.

Grammar: None

Spelling: None

Science: We will be starting Ch. 6 Earth Science very soon.

Other: Tomorrow is Day 3...Computers.
